IEBC boss Wafula Chebukati has said he did not know how UDA leader William Ruto knew his voters had been removed from the voter register.
“I don’t know how Ruto knew about the removal of his voters from the register. He has not provided any evidence to support his claims,” Chebukati said.
Ruto had claimed that IEBC was removing his voters from the register in a bid to rig the 2022 August 9th elections.
Chebukati said there were few cases of irregular voter transfer and they had be handled by IEBC in accordance with the law.
On June 2, Ruto claimed that the commission had removed over 1.2 million of his supporters from the voter register.
He accused IEBC of bias and called for Chebukati’s resignation.
However, Chebukati said the claims were not supported by any evidence and that Ruto was just politicking.
Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Presidential candidate Raila Odinga has said that Ruto is setting the stage for denying the results of the August 9th polls.
Raila said the Kenya Kwanza team has sensed defeat.
